• PCE carried out multiple People’s Education Assemblies (PEAs), at both the district and provincial level – the purpose of which was to bring together education stakeholders (parents, teachers, government officials) to harmonize a discussion on issues affecting education in the district/province.

  • PCE has been carrying out surveys on Budget Tracking of School Council Grants, as a means of increasing Social Accountability. In 2014 PCE surveyed 300 schools in 3 districts for this purpose while in 2015 the study was extended to 24 districts with overall 2400 schools being surveyed. The study was conducted in 14 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Sindh with a case study on Balochistan’s Parent Teacher School Management Committees (PTSMCs) in the year 2016.
  • PCE commemorates its Annual Convention every year, which brings forth PCE’s partners, as well as representatives of civil society organizations, government functionaries, members of the academia and other relevant stakeholders to discuss pertinent issues in education in Pakistan and come up with tangible solutions towards their amelioration.
  • Engagement with media is a continuous process, and PCE aims to establish an on-going working relationship with media experts in the print and electronic media to highlight education issues at the national level and strengthen our campaign for free and quality education for all.

Where we work

PCE operates in 65 districts with more than 200 member organizations, including local Community Based Organizations (CBOs), Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), Parents’ and Teachers Associations, civil society networks working on women, child rights and education, and equally importantly with the media that is inclusive of education reporters associations and representatives of relevant education departments.
